An adult, healthy person has 206 bones. Is it a lot or not? The size of an organism does not determine how many bones it has. For example, giraffes have a 5-meter neck with as many vertebrae and bones as humans.
So which animal has the most bones? It is probably one of the largest snakes in the world – the python. Two species in particular – tiger python (length up to approx. 8 meters) and reticulated python (length up to 10 meters). Their backbones have over 600 vertebrae. As a result, their skeletons have up to 1,800 bones.
