What threads does a standard hand shower have?

When a shower head or a shower hose breaks down in our bathroom, we wonder if every product available on the market will fit. Often in our head the question arises, what are the threads of a standard hand shower and a shower hose?

Luckily this has been standardized and virtually all headsets and shower hoses have 1/2 “inch threads.

Headphones with a different thread size are very rare and they are usually either specialized, non-standard solutions (e.g. in some bathtub mixers with a retractable shower hose, sometimes there are other threads) or made to order. For the remaining standard products, we can assume that the handset and hose have 1/2 “inch threads.
