What is the record for pole vault?

The current record in pole vault belongs to the Swedish athlete Armand Duplantis (born 1999). This jumper broke the world record in both categories: in the open stadium – 6.15 m (won on September 17, 2020 in Rome) and in the hall – 6.18 m (Glasgow, February 15, 2020). The latter record is also an absolute world record. The previous result belonged to Frenchman Renaud Lavillenie and was 6.16 m (Donetsk, February 15, 2014). Among women, the highest jump in history was Yelena Isinbayeva: 5.06 m (Zurich, August 28, 2009).
