What do the colors on the Polish flag mean?

przez Tomasz

The flag of Poland consists of two equal, horizontal and parallel stripes. The top half of the flag is white and the bottom half is red.

The colors refer to the Polish emblem, which shows a white eagle on a red shield. On the flag, white refers to the white eagle and red to the red shield on which it is placed in the emblem. Moreover, the color white symbolizes silver, water and purity. The red color, on the other hand, refers to fire, courage and bravery with its symbolism.

The Day of the Flag of the Republic of Poland falls on May 2 and is celebrated every year.
